6-19, Nothing cuter than a kitty

We lost our 15-year old cat a few months back.  Her absence left a giant hole in our hearts and our household.  This little cutie, Abby, has brought us our smiles back.  Thank goodness for furry friends.

6-12, Batter up!

The beauty of being an avid photographer is that I don't have to wait to capture those special times in our lives.  Our son LOVES baseball.  He enjoys the game and his athletic abilities continue to amaze us.  It was such a pleasure to spend a beautiful, weekend morning photographing him in his baseball uniform.  I know we'll soon look back and wonder how he grew up so fast.

5-23, Gilmore, ID

It's no secret.....I love ghost towns.  Ever since my childhood days of visiting Bannack, MT, I have been mesmorized by them....the history, the mystery.  How perfect it is that we now live out west again.  My goal is to see as many of them as possible....without driving my husband and son too crazy along the way.  We visited the town of Gilmore, ID, on a recent trip back from Montana.  I'd been so excited for the hours prior to the stop, but I wasn't so excited when it started raining....pouring.....just miles before we reached Gilmore.  As inconvenient as it was to be cold and soaking wet with muddy shoes and a shower cap and umbrella over my camera, I must say the weather really played into the mood of the place.  It made me ever-so-thankful to be able to get back into a warm car after our little excursion.  But on the flip side, it really made me think how miserably cold is must have been for the miners 'back in the day' returning to one of these shacks after a long day in the mines.  Oh how we've gotten soft......

6-8, A new blog, A new perspective.

Earlier this year, we moved across the country.....again.  I've spent the past few months trying to figure it all out:  our new home, our new community, our new life.  Never far from the fore-front of my thoughts:  my business.  What direction do I want to take it?  How much energy do I want to put into it?  What is my goal?  What is my true photographic passion?  If there's one thing I've learned over the past few months, it's that it takes time to figure out the answers to these questions.  I'm creating this blog as part of my photographic journey.  It will accompany my main website, www.aseyeseeitphotography.com, and tell the stories behind the images.  This blog will not include every photo that will be on my main site, only a sampling.  Following each post, I'll tell you where the photo(s) are located on www.aseyeseeitphotography.com.  Follow along and see where this journey takes us!

5-8, Mother's Day Flowers

My husband is in the Navy and has been deployed most of my Mother's Days (and Christmas', and Thanksgivings, and anniversaries and birthdays.....you get the idea.....).   He has been away for more of these special days than at home.  I savor every moment of every holiday that he is safe and sound with us.  This year I got the husband AND the flowers.  What mother doesn't love roses from the two special guys in her life?
